Here we were, the first import event on the east coast march 10, 2001 at english town new jersey.  It was import vs. domestic and from what I was saw, import of getting there tail whipped.  Not because they had the slower cars, but while bracket racing most of them was just breaking out from there dial up time and getting eliminated.  The imports were also out numbered and the domestic guys just knew what there cars could do.  Despite the brisk cool weather, there was a huge crowd that was watching and cheering the racers.  Real die hard import and domestic fans that can’t wait to get this season started right!!  Well, we feel just the same, and  I’m sure the best is yet to come.

There wasn’t many or any old school Toyotas at this event.  This event mostly consisted of  the 2000 Celica’s, a couple of the new mrs-(mr2) and of course a few quick supra’s.

We quickest mrs of the day was this silver one, which only had exhaust done. His best time of the day was 15.2

The yellow mrs looks good and ran a 15.6.  Look to see this mrs in a new body kit next event day.

We had a chance to look over 3 of the 2000 celica, and the fastest of the day was this silver one which mods consisted of:   cold air intake, exhaust, drag radials  14.4

Then this white one with the carbon fiber hood.   14.6

Then Luis (evo tercel) with his new red Celica, which is all stock best run was a 14.9

While lurking in the pit, we came across this clean ae86 corolla.  I took a few snaps and left a card, so if you’re the owner of this creation please email me.

The owner is Chris Murillo.   Thanks for the email.
