The weather has been harsh these past couple of weekends with rain and then more rain.  Saturday NHRA was a wash out so we only had hope for a dry Sunday on June 8th 2003.    Although the day was clear the sun stayed behind the clouds and the dampness remained in the air.  The racers did not need any motivation because they were ready to make some passes to earn some NHRA points and of course to break their record.

El verdugo racing was one of the first I spotted among the tent area.  A solid old school Corolla built by Joelo’s Performance shop.

I found Luis Corujo of Paradise Racing trouble shooting his 85 Corolla with its custom built turbocharged 3TC.  The trigger sensor broken off from the crank wheel and his team was able to remount a new sensor in place for their next run.

This old school Starlet also has a wicked turbo setup using a 3TC power plant.  We were impressed with its water to air cooling solution and engine bay setup.

Vinny Ten had a grin during the morning hours and little did  we know that Vinny had a surprise for everyone who attend.

Made our usual stops by Team Venom and Turbonetics to look for anything new with these 6 second Yota's.

And then something caught my eye.  It wasn't only this hot Mini Copper marketing the Street Glow graphics.  It was their extremely hot model name Garnett.  We seen guys scratch their heads as if they haven't seen anything so perfect back there.  I must admit, I was amongst them.

I had to shake Ara Arslanian hand for doing things so brilliantly this season for their team.  Street Glow Racing sponsorship and Bullish Motor Racing  made a great combination and formed an impact on the import fans. .

We spoke briefly with Amanda, co owner of the 97' supercharged Camry and also a spokes model for BFGoodrich.  Included along the BFGoodrich tent were two new in production Scion's, which is a new Toyota Division.  The sports coupe Scion XA and the van wagon Scion XB.

We came along this hot 95 Supra with a Texas plate next to the Quaker State tent.  We were shocked to find out that this was the daily driver of the legendary Kenny Tran (well known Honda racer), who is now sponsor by Quaker State.   Kenny has a shop in Texas called Jotech Motorsports and he built up this Supra to promote his shop as their show piece.  Nice job.

Sony Xplode was there with two of their demo vehicle's and we took a liking to their Areostar  mini van.  The entire rear interior was designed like an engine but with Sony speakers and Sony amps.

Well, that wasn't the only attraction.  There were a few girls by the Areostar from Slickspeed Performance that gave us a few clicks for the sites delight.  Heather wearing all black and Tina wearing the white top and a girl friend of the models.  Thanks!
